Ms. Schwartz’s paintings are abstract – inspired by nature, but not of nature – consisting of impressions, interpretations and memories. The interplay of image, surface, and the history of the painting as it evolved, allows the viewer to experience her paintings on many levels.

This series of paintings depicts the complexities and textures of the seasons, the paintings being a metaphor for the seasons of our lives: spring, a season of energy, excitement, and anticipation of endless possibilities, and pale green buds ready to burst; summer, a time of passion, discovery and growth, hot, sunny beaches, and flowers in full bloom; followed by autumn, when winds blow, and colors and spirit deepen; and finally winter, a time of quiet contemplation, and soft white snow.
