About

Monica Rickhoff Wilson creates tactile lifescapes – snapshots of performance, experience, and technique in both clay and image.

Her ceramic sculptures are a fusion of material and method: porcelain, stoneware, and terracotta with glazes that are fired at high and mid-range temperatures. The forms mimic natural clusters and clutches – they are soft, round, and pierced hollow collections that refer to growth and abundance with an edge toward excess and obsession.

Wilson’s current ceramic collection expands on her photographic series Heap – a document of performative sculptures about the physicality of material goods.

Wilson majored in ceramics and sculpture, studies glaze chemistry, and has interests in design and photography. She works from her home studio in Ann Arbor Michigan.
